The visual style, in a first look

Documentary light. Real kitchens. Nothing staged beyond recognition.

Heirloom Kitchen Films is a new studio. The first family productions are just getting underway, so there is no library of client films here yet.

The images below show the visual direction every production is built around: warm natural light, real wood and worn stoneware, a small crew working quietly in someone's actual kitchen. As real productions are completed, this page will fill with finished films shared with their families' permission.

A cinema camera on a tripod in a warm kitchen, its monitor showing the same fresh ingredients on the counter, with a softbox light behind
Every frame composed like a documentary close-up.
A slice of lattice-top apple pie on a vintage floral plate, steam rising
The dish gets the same care as the story.
A steaming bowl of fresh pasta with basil on a warm wood kitchen table
Shot where the meal actually happens.
Close-up of someone tasting sauce from a wooden spoon, eyes closed
The small, unscripted moments are worth keeping.
A grandparent and grandchild watching old cooking footage on a monitor, surrounded by family photos
This is what the finished film is for: the family who watches it years from now.
